Day 8 - The Islands of Venice
Meet your guide this morning to explore some of the famous islands of Venice and admire the local craftsmanship.

- Murano – Known for its artisan glassblowing factories and shops, Murano boasts a long and still-thriving tradition dating back to 1291, when glass artisans moved their kilns from the old city center. Murano was very wealthy, especially during the 15th and 16th centuries when the island was central to Europe’s glass making. Stop at a glass factory to watch skilled glass blowers create brilliant works of art.
- Burano – The island of Burano is one of the most colorful and picturesque with fishermen’s houses painted in bright pastel colors. In this miniature Venice, you’ll find the famous lace – abundant since the 16th century and once considered the most refined in Europe. Browse local shops and find lace on display at a museum dedicated to the craft of lace making.
Lunch on one of the islands – there are plenty of options for seafood lovers and non-seafood eaters alike. (Not included)
